As some of you know, I’m available for capping orders – to cap movies and tv shows not listed on these pages, or something I’m capping but you’re wanting something that isn’t on my list yet because I’m capping season 1 and the episode you want is a season 6 one. I’ll accept capping orders in exchange for a custom WordPress or a custom Coppermine layout, or even money via Paypal. I’ll also accept reupload order for caps that I have already uploaded, but have now been deleted by host and I have no fannish interest in the subject anymore – this option is dependent on whether I still have the files.
To be honest, I prefer to receive WordPress or Coppermine layouts in exchange for the caps if you’re good at making them, because while I have no problem making wallpapers, I’ve been sort of blocked for close to two years when it comes to making layouts, whether it’s just basic html one or a more demanding one like WordPress and Coppermine.
However, I won’t blindly accept just anyone saying they can make a layout – you must provide me with a link(s) to your previous WordPress and/or Coppermine layouts in the order form. Nor will I honor orders where I get in return just some existing layout with just a header swapped in and calling it “custom”. In addition, because I’ll be capping with the same high standards and care I apply to caps that I make for myself and my own sites, any graphics in the layouts must be good looking – no just slapping a cropped picture and a title on and calling it done. Basically, the same high standards that I’d expect from anyone making a layout for their use.
General Information
I always cap automatically with VirtualDub, no matter what the source is – it produces the best quality caps. I also always deinterlace and cut off black top and bottom bars when necessary, and make sure the aspect ratio is correct. I do all of this in VirtualDub, and don’t use Photoshop etc. in any part of the process. I usually don’t touch the caps otherwise – I don’t adjust brightness or contrast.
I usually get the minimum of 3000 caps per a 43-minute episode, and minimum of 6500 caps per a 2-hour movie when capping at my default settings. These numbers are roughly halved if I then weed the bad caps out: about 1300-1800 caps per a 43-minute episode, and 3000-5000 caps per a 2-hour movie.
Now about what makes up the prices: time and effort it takes find, get the episode/movie, and the time it takes to upload. The source or the capping itself doesn’t take so much effort because I can have it running in the background while I do other stuff, but especially any extra uploading takes uploading time away from my regular uploads – my current upload stream isn’t as fast as it used to be, so upload time is a major factor in my uploading decisions; but I don’t mind doing it when there’s something in it for me. And I don’t like weeding, so that costs a little extra if you want me to do it.
Bluray/HD DVD = capped from Bluray or HD DVD:
Usual cap sizes: 1920×1080, 1920×800
No logos, subtitles etc.
HDTV = capped from a tv broadcast:
Usual cap sizes: 1920×1080, 1920×800, 1280×720
Usually have logos, may occasionally have subtitles
DVD = capped from DVD:
Usual cap sizes: 1024×576, 1024×768, (768×576, 640×480)
It may be necessary to make smaller, depending on the quality of the source.
After sending in the order form, you will hear from me, usually within 24 hours, whether I am able to cap it or not. In addition to online sources, I have my own DVDs and my friends’, and my local library also has a nice selection of DVDs and a growing selection of Blurays. I won’t take many commissions at a time, so that I can produce and upload the caps as quickly as I can. Because some of the sources will take more time to cap, as well as to get, it usually takes me 3-7 days to process one order from start to finish. If it”ll take longer, you’ll be notified.
Here’s a general outline of the process:
1. You send me the order using the form at the bottom of this page.
2. I check if the episode or movie is available to me, and let you know.
3. If you accept it, you’ll let me know whether you’ll be making a WordPress or Coppermine layout and send me links to your layout sample(s), or whether you’ll pay money via Paypal.
4. I’ll either accept or reject your order based on the samples you linked me to. If I accept your order, I’ll send you the details for the WordPress or Coppermine layout, ie. what pictures to use etc. I’ll also tell you the day I estimate the be caps will be available for download.
5. I’ll get the episode/movie and cap it. I will send you a sample cap, and then you will show me a preview of the layout you’re making for me, or pay me via Paypal.*
6. I will upload the caps to a file hosting service of your choice, such as Megaupload or Mediafire. You will give me the layout.
7. The caps are all yours! Do with them and to them what you want. Credit me, don’t credit me – it’s all fine.
Be sure to keep the caps safe – I’ll leave the zip/rar(s) up at the file hosting service (meaning I don’t delete it) but if the host deletes it, I might not be able to reupload (I won’t necessarily keep the caps if it’s something I’m not familiar with/don’t care about) and even if I am, because of the extra upload time involved, I won’t do it for free.
* = I reserve the right to change this step, should I get abused by orders we both have accepted but the person won’t show me a layout preview/shows me a preview clearly breaking my rules, or doesn’t pay me.
As for the layouts, I’ll be happy to credit you – just put it in the layout, or alternately let me know which name and/or website I should add to the credits page.

MOVIE : One movie either from Bluray/HD DVD, HDTV or DVD
1. Movie 1: Unweeded. 5000-10000 caps from a single movie, auto-capped, nothing weeded out. Price: One WordPress theme and 6 link-me-back buttons OR One Coppermine layout and 6 link-me-back-buttons OR 6.00 USD
2. Movie 2: Weeded. Autocapped, final number varies because I will weed bad caps out. Price: One WordPress theme and 10 link-me-back buttons OR One Coppermine layout and 10 link-me-back-buttons OR 8.00 USD
TV Episode: One tv 1-hour (really aproxx. 43 minutes) tv episode from either Bluray/HD DVD, HDTV or DVD
1. TV 1: Unweeded. Minimum of 3000 caps from a single episode, auto-capped, nothing weeded out. Price: One WordPress theme OR One Coppermine layout OR 2.50 USD

NOTE: these prices are for movie/episode capping only. I don’t usually cap menus, extras etc. but I can if requested and depending on the source, it’s possible. That adds an extra 2USD to the price.
The link-me-back buttons in the packages that have them listed, are negotiable; if you’d rather make, as an example, avatars, a banner, or a wallpaper. I’m also willing to change the custom WordPress or custom Coppermine layout of any package to a custom eFiction layout. The reason it isn’t listed above, is that I don’t see many people making/offering to make eFiction skins at all on fansite design sites.
I normally online every day, so I usually reply to order form witn 24 hours after you have sent it. On weekends, it may take a little longer. If I’m on hiatus/holiday/not home for a longer time, I’ll state so at the top of it page.
